The Societal Engagement in Science, Mutual Learning in Cities (SEiSMiC) project is a 36-month support action funded under the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) in the context of the European Commission’s Science in Society Programme.
Between November 2013 and November 2016, it supports the Joint Programming Initiative (JPI) Urban Europe, and contributes a social dimension to the Commission’s Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). Its main aim is to promote citizen engagement in identifying social innovation needs in urban development, and to contribute to future urban research strategies. SEiSMiC has been implemented by 13 partners in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom, and is coordinated by the Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna and Platform 31 in The Hague. EUROCITIES is a partner in this project.
