Our third brokerage event on the Horizon 2020 Smart Cities & Communities calls for funding on 11 December attracted record breaking participation from our members.
There were some 100 participants from 54 cities at the event, which took place at the Brussels office of the Catalonia region. Anna Lisa Boni, our secretary general, and Pere Puig i Anglada, general representative from the Catalonia delegation, opened the event.
During the sessions, Mercè Griera i Fisa (pictured) from DG CONNECT, presented the proposals. She pointed out that valuable and important lessons could be learnt from the first round of smart cities calls under Horizon 2020. Manchester, which was successful in securing funding through the first call, shared its experiences with participants. Unsuccessful project proposers also shared their lessons learnt from the last call.
Participants presented their own project ideas and discussed them in detail during the afternoon roundtables.
