A seminar on the need for and priorities of a greater urban dimension to EU policy
The draft programme for the seminar jointly organised by EUROCITIES and the CEMR is now available. Commissioner Johannes Hahn will be speaking at the first session entitled ‘Do we need an urban agenda at EU level?’ and the EUROCITIES and CEMR presidents, Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz and Annemarie Jorritsma-Lebbink, will be giving replies on behalf of each of our networks.
The second session will feature a panel debate with politicians from across Europe speaking about what the priorities should be for a European urban agenda. Panellists include Ghent mayor Daniel Termont, the deputy mayor of Venice Carla Rey, Hella Dunger-Löper, the State Secretary for European Affairs of Berlin, the mayor of Santander, Íñigo Joaquín De La Serna Hernáiz, Tony Buchanan, deputy leader of East Renfrewshire, and Michal Olszewski, the vice mayor of Warsaw.
The seminar will be moderated by Claire Charbit of the OECD who will involve the audience in the Q&A sessions.
