Starting with 1 January, Airbnb and the other platforms members of French
Holidays Homes Association, will support the development of a sustainable
short-term rental market, by limiting the home listing to host reservations for
a maximum of 120 nights per calendar year. The restriction applies to primary
residence, where the owner at lives least 8 months per year.
This is a measure that has been taken by the French Holidays Homes Association as a response to the commitment made to the French Government to reduce the pressure on long-term housing options.
The 18 French cities selected for the implementation are Aix-en-Provence, Annecy, Bordeaux, Levallois-Perret, Lille, Lyon, Martigues, Menton, Neuilly sur Seine, Nice, Nîmes, Paris, Roquebrune Cap Martin, Saint-Cannat, Saint-Paul de Vence, Sète, Versailles, Villeneuve-Loubet.
