ENIGMA partner cities are preparing to launch an innovative procurement procedure in the field of public lighting
Having researched the state of public lighting in European cities and the capabilities of new lighting technologies, the five partner cities (Eindhoven, Espoo, Malmo, Stavanger and Bassano) in the ENIGMA project are preparing to launch an innovative procurement procedure in the field of public lighting.
Their first step will be to communicate their intentions to the lighting industry, and engage in an open and constructive exchange with businesses on the public lighting systems that they would like to see developed. As a result of these discussions, the cities can adapt their ambitions and launch a call to the market.
To avoid any legal and IPR pitfalls that may arise when using this type of procurement, the ENIGMA project is training municipalities on PCP law on 28 March 2014 in Brussels. The half-day session is open to all interested cities, who can find out more and register here.
