Joanna Rolland, mayor of Nantes, has replaced Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, mayor of Warsaw, as EUROCITIES president.

Johanna Rolland took over the presidency of EUROCITIES for a two-year mandate on 7 November, during EUROCITIES 2014 Munich.

Nantes previously stood as vice president, and has demonstrated longstanding commitment to EUROCITIES. The French city joined our executive committee on 2006, becamse treasurer in 2010 and vice president in 2012. Nantes also hosted our annual conference, 'a new city politics', in 2012.

Nantes is keen to maintain the momentum on an EU urban agenda, and would like to strengthen our relationships with the new European Commission and Parliament.
