Homelessness peer review in Newcastle

The peer review, 'everyone belongs', took place on 23-24 June.

We hosted a peer review on homelessness in Newcastle on 23-24 June. The ‘everyone belongs’ peer review explored the city’s active inclusion strategy, focusing on integrating services and promoting partnerships, user involvement and quality accommodation. Participants included city representatives from Barcelona, Brno, Gijon, Ljubljana, Oslo, Tallinn, Utrecht and Vienna.

As well as an exchange of good practices, the review featured site visits to Cherry Tree View emergency accommodation and the Crisis Skylight activity centre, and participants were invited to meet the users.

The city representatives discussed prevention, multiple exclusion and housing-led/housing first approaches to homelessness.

The next meeting of our working group on homelessness will take place in Brussels on 25-26 November 2014.
