Nine out of the ten finalists for this years' European Capital of Innovation are EUROCITIES members (Aarhus, Berlin, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Nice, Paris, Tallinn, Tampere and Toulouse).
The winners will be announced on 7 November at the Lisbon Web Summit.
A prize of €1 million will be awarded to the city that demonstrates the bext innovation ecosystem, and two runners-up will receive €100,000 each.
The European Capital of Innovation showcases cities that have improved quality of life through innovative concepts, tools, and governance models. Cities that have engaged citizens in the process and can become a role model for other cities are most likely to win.
