Nine cities have been shortlisted for the 2016 EUROCITIES awards, across three different categories.
The awards showcase outstanding achievements by our member cities in the delivery of local activities or practices which improve the quality of life for citizens. The theme of the awards changes every year in line with the theme of our annual conference.
This year's awards will relate to the EUROCITIES 2016 Milan conference theme, 'Sharing cities', following the three permanent categories: cooperation, innovation and participation.
This year, the following cities have been shortlisted:
Helsinki – Climate Street
Nice – Urban health living lab
Zaragoza – La Colaboradora
Athens - Synathina
Glasgow – Co-operative Glasgow
Utrecht – Solar car charging
Amsterdam – Open Borough
Gijon – Citizen participation and open government
Leeds – Migrant access project
The three winners will be announced at a ceremony in Milan on 17 November. Descriptions of the shortlisted entries will be available soon on the conference website: www.eurocities2016.eu.
