Together with Sharing Cities, EUROCITIES hosted the sixth brokerage event on Horizon 2020 Smart Cities & Communities 2018 call for funding on 25 October 2017.
Cities representatives from Portugal, Italy, France, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Ireland gathered at the Gothenburg European office in Brussels to exchange project ideas and to develop consortia.
After an introduction presented by Bernadett Köteles-Degrendele and Anja De Cunto (EUROCITIES), Jens Bartholmes (DG ENER) opened the sessions by explaining the rationale behind the expected impacts of the call.
Anas Pangonis (INEA) shared some lessons and good methodological practices on how to prepare a successful proposal.
Participants received interesting insights on how to build a successful smart cities replication strategy from a presentation by Bernadett Köteles-Degrendele ( Sharing Cities).
Nathan Pierce (programme director for Sharing Cities) spoke about smart cities business models and investment possibilities.
In a final speed networking session (pictured), participants were given the opportunity to introduce their city’s visions, ambitions and ideas. This was to enable representatives to find potential project partners. These ideas have been discussed together with the present experts, who were very helpful in answering all kinds of related questions.
