Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU funding programme, through which a total of €5.69 billion will be made available for promoting clean and efficient energy for Europe.
The newly launched 2016-2017 Horizon 2020 calls make available €1.344 million for projects related to energy efficiency (EE), competitive low carbon energy (LCE) and smart and sustainable cities (SCC).
The Covenant of Mayors is hosting a webinar on 10 December on the new calls. It will be an opportunity for local authorities to further explore opportunities within Horizon 2020 to participate in projects promoting research and innovation on heating and cooling technologies, consumer engagement, sustainable buildings and renewable energy.
