We presented our position on the future of EU home affairs policy at the Committee of the Regions CIVEX commission on 7 April
The Committee of the Regions commission for citizenship, governance, institutional and external affairs invited us to participate in a dialogue on the future of EU home affairs on 7 April 2014 in Brussels.
Mitja Mersol from Ljubljana presented our vision and recommendations, confirming the need to involve local authorities in the development, implementation and evaluation of migration and related policies. He also called on the EU to bring coherence to what is currently a fragmented policy field which impacts heavily on social cohesion in cities.
Our recommendations were prepared in consultation with our working group on migration and integration, based on the extensive experience and activities of this group in the field of migrant integration.
