Europe's top sustainable urban mobility awards are open for applications. Towns and cities have until 13 July 2018 to submit their entries and be in with a chance of winning a prestigious prize for their clean urban transport initiatives.
The CIVITAS Awards provide a unique platform for towns and cities to showcase their pioneering sustainable urban mobility activities. Winners can achieve Europe-wide exposure for their work and become a role model and inspire others.
The Awards are open to all towns and cities that have signed the CIVITAS Declaration and are members of the CIVITAS Forum Network. If your town or city would like to enter and is not yet a forum member you can complete and sign the CIVITAS Forum Declaration.
Prizes are awarded in four categories and applications can be made for multiple categories:
- The 'Bold Measure' award rewards a daring approach that has yet to be widely implemented or an ambitious activity already achieving successful outcomes
- The 'Take-Up' award recognises those who have successfully transferred their knowledge and sustainable urban mobility measure(s) to another town or city
- The 'CIVITAS Legacy' award honours a town or city that has translated its commitment to the CIVITAS network and sustainable mobility into high-impact, innovative measures
- The 'Transformations' award is presented by the CIVITAS Political Advisory Committee to the town or city that has used mobility measures to transform itself into a smarter, more liveable environment.
As is traditional, the prizes will be awarded at the CIVITAS Forum. This year's event is taking place in Umea, Sweden, from 19-21 September.
