Cities can now apply for the title of European Youth Capital 2021!

Cities across Europe can now apply to become the European Youth Capital in 2021. The title is awarded by the European Youth Forum to a different European city each year. The award is recognising the efforts and initiatives of the municipality in making the city more youth-friendly and boosting the role of young people and youth organisations in the community.

EUCANET calls for papers discussing the role of cities and city agencies in the EU urban agenda

European Commission outlines vision for a European Education Area by 2025

On 14 November, the European Commission released a new proposal for strengthening European identity through education and culture. Its vision is to establish a European Education Area by 2025 in which learning, studying and doing research would not be challenged by borders. The proposal is to boost mobility and make cross-border cooperation easier, invest in people and their education, and strengthen the sense of European identity and awareness of cultural heritage.

Capitals and European cities of Christmas 2018

The international jury for the 'Capital and European City of Christmas' contest, which gathered in Madrid at the IberoAmérica Europa Foundation headquarters, has unanimously declared the municipalities of Liege and Torrejon de Ardoz as European capitals of Christmas, and has declared the municipalities of Medina de Riseco and Valkenburg as European Christmas cities.

ROCKs living lab in Eindhoven

The tech savvy city of Eindhoven hosted the second work-shadowing visit of ROCK, which focused on the living lab approach to urban innovation, mastered by the city. The three ROCK replicator cities Bologna, Lisbon and Skopje got inspired by this method of trial and error and got concrete recommendations and tips on how to transfer Eindhoven's good practices to their local context.
