Free-floating bike-sharing systems putting pressure on European cities

New forms of mobility are emerging around the concept of the sharing economy. Bike-sharing systems are entering a phase of ‘dock-less’ or ‘free-floating’. Shared bikes don’t need to be picked up or left at a specific station, but the (almost) whole city area is eligible for parking.

Lisbon wins the European Capital of Sport 2021

Lisbon received the title of European Capital of Sport 2021. Six other members of EUROCITIES got the title of European City of Sport 2018: Banja LuKa, Braga, Cluj-Napoca, Klaipeda, Kortijki and Ostend. In 2018, the European Capital of Sport is Sofia.

Immigrants and minorities have high trust in local authorities, says new report

On 6 December, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) revealed new findings about the situation of immigrants and minorities in the EU.
