Addressing The Metropolitan Challenge in Barcelona Metropolitan Area. A study sharing lessons from five European metropolitan areas

On the request of the Barcelona Metropolitana Area, the Metropolitan Research Institute (Budapest) prepared a study analysing the different models of cooperation and organisation of the metropolitan areas of Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Greater Manchester, Stuttgart and Zurich, including a set of political recommendations of possible application in the metropolis of Barcelona.

Our autumn meeting of the working group Roma inclusion will take place on 24-25 September in Leeds. It will bring together cities from different corners of Europe to learn and inspire one another on how to address inequalities and foster the inclusion of Roma people, Europe's biggest ethnic minority. The meeting will include a study visit and an exhibition of projects and services that support Roma inclusion in Leeds.

The art of the trade deal includes cities

Ruptures in large-scale trade negotiations, and differences in trade outlook with the current US administration, risk weakening the delivery of public services to EU citizens. A spate of bilateral trade agreements, including with Japan, have followed. However, these only address delivery of essential services and citizens’ concerns on an ad hoc basis.
