Want to know more about the Farm to Fork Strategy and how it will complement the EU Biodiveristy Strategy to 2030? Want to be involved in deciding how EUROCITIES reacts to the European Commission’s communication? Join the WG Food meeting on Monday 6 July from 14.00-16.00 (CEST/Brussel time).

This meeting will be an occasion to explore further the F2F communication and the role of cities in it, and to agree on the main advocacy messages of EUROCITIES and our next lobby actions.

The Farm to Fork Strategy is at the heart of the European Green Deal aiming to make food systems fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly. The strategy sets out both regulatory and non-regulatory initiatives, with the common agricultural and fisheries policies as key tools to support a just transition. A proposal for a legislative framework for sustainable food systems will be put forward by 2023 to support implementation of the strategy and development of sustainable food policy. More Information.

Together with the EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2030, these two initiatives will be the main tools to reverse biodiversity loss and restore degraded ecosystems. This is a great opportunity to see how these WG GAB and WG Food could collaborate to ensure an ambitious Farm to Fork Strategy. Registrations are available here
