This event will take place on Tuesday 28 November from 9:30 to 15:30, in the Committee of the Regions' building, 99 rue Belliard 99-101 in brussels.
The aim of the event is to provide real inputs of local and regional authorities through concrete projects to the “Reflecting on Europe” initiative and to the opinion on “Reflection on Europe: the voice of regional authorities to rebuild trust in the European Union” of the European Committee of the Regions that will contribute to the selection of the next EU scenario and the design of the new programming period.
The three hosting city regions will present some developing initiatives and practical solutions to current and future challenges in the local arena in four important domains: territorial development; integration of migrants; mobility and sustainable health care in times of demographic change.
The keynote speeches will be delivered by the President of the Committee of the Regions, Karl Heinz Lambertz and Nils Behrndt, Head of Cabinet of European Commission. Moderator will be Carsten Lietz, from the European Commission.
Silvia Ganzerla, policy director at EUROCITIES will present the Urban Agenda in a session on managing territorial development in cities and regions. Gabriel Jacqmin from EUROCITIES will present the work of the WG Urban Ageing in a session looking at providing sustainable healthcare in times of demographic change.
