Nine projects from nine different cities were shortlisted for this year's EUROCITIES awards.

The following projects were shortlisted across three categories:


·         Liverpool – ‘REECH initiative’

·         Rotterdam – ‘De verkeersondermening/Marketplace for mobility’

·         Tampere – ‘ITS factory – developing a smooth, safe and sustainable transport system’


·         Edinburgh – ‘Auld but not reekie – transforming transport energy use in Edinburgh’

·         Oslo – ‘The electric vehicle capital’

·         Vilnius – ‘The interactive map of the actual energy consumption class’


·         Dortmund – ‘Masterplan energy transition Dortmund’

·         Malaga – ‘Energy efficiency refurbishment in social housing through participation’

·         The Hague – ‘Sustainability in The Hague neighbourhoods; participation in co-creation’

These entries were selected from a total of 19 applications from 17 cities. They are all linked to the theme of our annual conference, EUROCITIES 2014 Munich – energising cities, taking place on 5-8 November. The three winners of this year’s awards will be announced at a ceremony opening the conference on 5 November.
